Mastering a new language for adults is a challenging task and needs sustained efforts over many years. Attaining a high level of proficiency in listening is the most demanding skill as the listener has no control over the vocabulary, pronunciation, regionalism, idioms, sarcasm, humor, cultural allusion and literary suggestiveness his or her interlocutor may utilize.

This program presents to committed Hindi learners rich cultural content in a series of five video interviews. In order to enhance the value of these long interviews for language learners, we have segmented them into manageable units and have provided accompanying transcription, pop-up glosses, audio only choice and multiple choice questions. For committed learners, going through these activities should help them develop their listening comprehension at a higher level of competence.
